SHAME 'N' SCANDAL - Social At A Distance - the lyrics

WOULD THE WORLD WAIT?

so many tragic stories
have been written on these factory walls
twenty five years of a hard work
and the salvation army calls

and in this modern society
where everything has to run
so many have been searching for solution
from the wrong end of a gun

and the world keeps going 'round
and I'm tied up to the ground
gotta keep on moving - no time for giving in
the world keeps going 'round
and I'm tied up to the ground
if i let go - would the world wait for me?
would the world wait for me?

no future for the one
who stands in an empty row
if you don't know how to shine their shoes
you're soon free to go

well I may not have got the power
but I still got my voice
and damn right I'm gonna use it
if you leave me no choice

and the world keeps going 'round
and I'm tied up to the ground
gotta keep on moving - no time for giving in
the world keeps going 'round
and I'm tied up to the ground
if i let go - would the world wait for me?
would the world wait for me?

GENERATION OF REVOLUTION

"Rock 'n' Roll can never save your soul"
you know - it ain't really my main goal
I may got some different values
that you don't understand

it's not responsibility they feel
when they're telling you how to live
now we're gonna play our song
we got a new sound for you

we are the generation of revolution
and we are living days of changes
yeah yeah

oh, i might a bit too young to say
but things aren't going our way
join the army and fill your moat
if you wanna live your life free

if the birds in the skies fly free
then tell me why ain't we
when the day of salvation rises
do you really wanna be saved

we are the generation of revolution
and we are living days of changes
yeah yeah

we are the generation
yeah yeah

RAT RACE

old skyline just ain't the same
nobody knows just what became
now it's all raped by the monuments of our greed

we are rodents in a rat race
running, spinning without sense of a direction
oh, we're running in circles again

take me for a ride
to place where humble people hide
this absurd rat race is just choking me
so take me anywhere
i don't even care
free me up from this endless game

yeah, but i ain't gonna do as they told
walk their streets made of purest gold
just like the babylon - their glory is doomed to fall

lost souls are giving up on their freedom
just to please some fat old hog
oh, we're running in circles again

take me for a ride
to place where humble people hide
this absurd rat race is just choking me
so take me anywhere
i don't even care
free me up from this endless game

ANOTHER HEART (WITHOUT A HOME)

dear mrs. operator
would you help me now
sing me a jolly song
'cos i'm feeling quite down

now i'm sitting here by my window
watching the years go by
thinking back to the early years
before everything started to die

when the fire inside my heart is out
when the reality has forced me to back down
when i'm too tired to carry on a fight
then i'm just another hopeless heart without a home

or maybe i just need a ride
some chill shelter to hide
because this heat is slowly numbing my brain
oh, when did my life get so lame

maybe that's just what the friends are for
to turn their back, like they did before
circles are closing again - leaving me out
silent bitterness is breaking me down

when the fire inside my heart is out
when the reality has forced me to back down
when i'm too tired to carry on a fight
then i'm just another hopeless heart without a home

PICKING MY NOSE IN PUBLIC

i quit my job today
i just opened the door and walked away
i found out that society was just a stupid rip-off game
so i'm picking my nose in public, yes i'm back on the street again!

i sneaked out of the asylum today
couldn't stand the lunatics calling me insane
i lost my reputation, but remained my sanity
now i'm picking my nose in public and finally i am free

from a record shop to a coffee shop and round again
walking through the snow with my collar up in the wind and rain
stay at home and sleep or wank or whatever keeps me sane
showing my manners on the main street, at last i'm free again!

i dropped out of society today
'cause they act like a bunch of kids but they won't let me play
so i'm no longer a number, from now on i have a name!
i am picking my nose in public, yes i'm back on the street again
